Trichologist / Belfast

77A Botanic Avenue

A trichologist in Belfast who finds the cause first.

Losing hair, or living with an itchy or flaky scalp, is stressful. The hardest part is not knowing why. At Tess Hair and Scalp Clinic on Botanic Avenue, our certified trichologist Theresa Anthony looks at your hair, your scalp and your health together, explains what is going on, and builds a plan around what she finds.

What a trichologist helps with

A trichologist is a specialist in the health of the hair and scalp. People come to us when shampoos, supplements and online advice have not worked, or when they simply want to know what is really happening.

  • Thinning hair, a widening parting or more hair in the brush

  • Sudden shedding after stress, illness, surgery or having a baby

  • Patchy hair loss or a receding hairline

  • Itchy, flaky, oily or sore scalp

  • Scalp build-up and blocked follicles

  • Hair loss at the edges from braids, extensions or tight styles

What happens at your consultation

  1. 01

    We listen first

Your hair history, health, medication, diet, stress and hair care routine. Hair loss often has more than one cause, so this part matters.

  2. 02

We look closely at your scalp

Your scalp and hair are examined up close in the consultation room, so we can see what is happening at the follicle.

  3. 03

    We explain what we find

In plain words: the likely cause, what can help, and what will not. If something needs a doctor, we tell you and suggest you see your GP.

  4. 04

    You leave with a plan

Clinic treatments, home care, or simply reassurance. Nothing is booked unless you want it.
